Kord Fire Protection is calling attention to the importance of routine fire sprinkler inspections for property owners and facility managers across Southern California. The company's announcement emphasizes the need for both annual and five-year inspections to identify hidden issues like closed valves, corrosion, or internal pipe obstructions that can impair system performance.
"For building owners and property managers, sprinkler inspections are not just a compliance item," said Darius Kordabadi, CEO of Kord Fire Protection. "They are one of the most practical ways to understand the condition of a building's fire protection system before a real emergency exposes a problem."
The company noted that while annual inspections cover the visible condition of components like gauges, sprinkler heads, and control valves, the five-year inspections provide a deeper look into internal system conditions to identify potential corrosion or material that could impact water flow. These maintenance programs are guided by standards including NFPA 25 (Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems) and California Title 19.
